1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
1 cup filtered water
1 cup milk of choice
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
sweetener such as maple syrup, chopped dates, or mashed banana
dash of sea salt
optional add-ins: 1/4-1/2 cup pumpkin purée, 1/2 - 1 Tbsp raw cacao powder
toppings: cinnamon apples & pears, stewed berries, sliced fruit, cacao nibs, hemp seeds, coconut flakes, nuts/nut butter
Add all ingredients to a small saucepan and cook over medium to medium-high heat until it comes to a boil.
Reduce to low-medium heat and cook until oats are tender and creamy (about 15 minutes). Stir occasionally.
Add desired toppings and additional milk of your choice.
