Chocolate Cacao Stovetop Oatmeal


  • 3/4 cup water

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond or oat milk

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats

  • 1 Tbsp cacao powder

  • 1/2 Tbsp maple syrup

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla


  1. Place a saucepan or pot with the water and milk on medium-high heat. Bring the liquid to a boil.

  2. Add in the oats and reduce the heat to a simmer.

  3. Cook for about 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  4. Add the cacao powder, maple syrup, and vanilla.

  5. Remove from heat and cover the pan with a lid for about 5 minutes to allow the oats to absorb more water.

  6. Transfer the oats to a bowl. Top with your favorite fruit and desired toppings.
